Questions

BEFORE YOU ASK.

Straight answers to the questions collectors actually ask. Where an answer is personal to your car, we would rather you simply asked.

Storage & Care

Should the fuel tank be full or empty for long-term storage?

For long-term storage, a full tank of quality fuel is generally best. A full tank leaves less room for moist air, protecting the tank and fuel system from internal corrosion. Fuel also degrades over months, so stabilisation matters for longer stays. Fuel management is part of our preservation care — levels, condition and stabilisation are looked after while the car rests.

What temperature and humidity is ideal for car storage?

Stability matters more than any single number. Preservation asks for a constant, moderate temperature and relative humidity held in the mid-range — dry enough to prevent corrosion, humid enough to keep leather, rubber and trim from drying out. Our facility holds both at ideal levels all year round, without the daily swings that do the quiet damage.

Is a battery conditioner included, and why does it matter?

Yes. Intelligent battery conditioning is part of our preservation care. A stored battery discharges slowly on its own; left unattended for months it loses capacity and can fail entirely — a particular risk for modern cars whose electronics never fully sleep. Conditioning keeps the battery healthy and ready, so the car wakes properly and leaves on its own charge.

How do you prevent tyre flat-spotting?

Tyres carrying a stationary load slowly deform where they meet the floor. Our first defence is monitored, corrected tyre pressure — checked and adjusted throughout the stay — with care taken that no tyre is left settling on one patch for months on end. Quiet, routine attention that preserves the tyres you chose.

Do you start or exercise stored cars?

That depends on the car, and on you. Some owners want their car brought to temperature periodically; others prefer it left settled under conditioning and covers. Exercise is agreed as part of each vehicle's care plan rather than imposed as routine. Tell us how you would like your car kept, and we will keep it that way.

Can classic cars and modern supercars share the same environment?

Comfortably. The conditions that preserve a fifty-year-old classic — stable temperature, controlled humidity, clean dry air — are the same conditions a modern supercar prefers. Each vehicle rests in its own private bay, so a carburettored classic and a hybrid flagship can be neighbours without compromise. The environment is engineered for preservation; the age of the car does not change the standard.

Access & Logistics

Can I visit my car?

Of course. Your car remains yours, and you are welcome to see it. Viewings are private and by appointment — we do not operate an open door, because discretion protects every client, including you. Arrange a time with us, and the facility and your vehicle will be ready for you.

How does collection and delivery work?

Your vehicle travels fully enclosed — covered, secured and unseen — throughout Portugal and Europe. We collect from your door, your dealer or your event, and return the same way. From the moment the car leaves your hands to the moment it comes back, it is handled by our team and never exposed to the road, the weather or the curious.

How much notice do you need to have my car ready?

A message ahead is all it takes. Tell us when and where you would like the car, and it will be prepared, uncovered and waiting — charged, checked and ready for the road or for the transporter. The further ahead you can tell us, the smoother it is; but readiness is the point of everything we do.

I'm a non-resident — can you store my car while I'm away?

Yes — many collectors keep a car in Portugal precisely because they are not always here. We hold your vehicle in preservation and prepare it for your return. As general guidance, a foreign-registered vehicle kept in Portugal beyond 183 days a year may require local registration; confirm your position with a professional adviser.

Practicalities

How much does supercar or classic car storage cost in Portugal?

Every arrangement is priced around the vehicle and the owner. The bay, the duration and the level of care each shape the figure. Rather than publish a tariff that fits no one, we prepare a tailored quotation for every enquiry. Tell us about your car and how long it will stay.

Do I still need insurance while my car is in storage?

Yes. Storage complements insurance; it does not replace it. Many insurers offer reduced laid-up cover for vehicles kept off the road in a secured facility. We recommend telling your insurer the car is professionally stored, and confirming cover for transport if we collect or deliver. Your policy remains yours; our environment simply strengthens your position.

Is there a minimum storage term?

There is no standard term, because there is no standard client. Some cars stay for a season; some rest for years between drives. Each arrangement is bespoke — duration, services and access shaped around how you use the car. Enquire, and we will structure something around your circumstances rather than ask you to fit ours.

What security protects the facility?

Layers you will never notice, working every hour of every day. Access is limited, logged and verified. The facility is continuously monitored, with environmental sensors and layered alarm systems behind it. And the layer we value most is discretion: we do not publish our address, and we do not discuss our clients.
