Faro Airport

NEAR FARO.READY WHEN YOU LAND.

For owners who fly in and out of Faro: why the airport car park is the wrong home for a good car, and how a private hall in the central Algarve keeps it ready for your return.

The Guide

For much of the Algarve, Faro Airport is where the year turns. You land, and the season begins; you fly out, and the car starts its wait. Where it waits decides how it greets you next time.

This guide is for owners who build their year around that airport — what the obvious options really do to a car, and what the alternative looks like in practice.

WHO THIS IS FOR.

Seasonal residents who spend spring and summer here and the winter elsewhere. Non-residents who fly in for a few weeks at a time, several times a year. Owners with a house in Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, Vilamoura or Almancil — 15 to 25 minutes from the airport — who would rather the car were not the one thing left alone while the house is closed.

What they share is a rhythm: weeks of driving, then months of standing. And a wish that the first drive of the next visit begins with the car, not with a garage.

WHY THE AIRPORT IS THE WRONG HOME.

Long-stay parking at Faro is convenient in exactly one direction. It is built for a fortnight's holiday, not a season's absence, and a good car pays for the difference.

Sun. An Algarve summer in an open bay bakes paint, trim, leather and rubber seals, day after day, with nothing between the car and the sky.

Salt air. Faro sits on the coast. Salt settles on bodywork, brake discs and underbody, and on damp winter nights it becomes a slow corrosion cell that never switches off.

Flat batteries. A modern car draws current even while parked. Over months without a conditioner, the battery drains towards the night it will be asked to start — often at midnight, in arrivals.

Tyres. Rubber under a stationary load settles and flat-spots, and pressures drift down with no one to correct them.

No care. A car park sells space, not attention. Nobody notices a softening tyre, a warning light or the first bloom of rust — and nobody is meant to.

Tariffs change and are published by ANA; check the current long-stay rate at store.ana.pt and weigh it against what the car will need when you return.

HOW IT WORKS WITH VAULT 620.

Vault 620 is a private preservation hall in the central Algarve — insulated, naturally dry and monitored around the clock. Each car rests in its own marked space on an open, meticulously kept floor.

Before you fly. Bring the car to us, or have it collected. Collection and delivery are arranged on request and scheduled around your travel dates, by specialist enclosed carrier overseen by us at both ends — from anywhere in the Algarve, and from Lisbon, Cascais, Estoril, Sintra or Comporta if the car lives further north.

While you are away. With the care package, the car is kept on intelligent battery conditioning, its tyre pressures monitored and corrected throughout the stay. Concierge work — servicing, an IPO inspection, detailing — can be done in the meantime, coordinated on your behalf.

Before you land. A message ahead, and the car is charged, checked and ready — for you to collect, or delivered to your door, scheduled around your travel dates.

WHAT READY WHEN YOU LAND MEANS.

A battery that starts. Conditioned throughout the stay, so the car wakes properly and leaves on its own charge.

Tyres as you left them. Pressures checked and corrected, so nothing has settled into a flat spot while you were away.

Fresh fuel. For longer stays, fuel stabilisation is available, so the car starts as it should, first time.

A clean car. Detailing on request, so the first drive of the season feels like one.

None of this is theatre. It is simply the difference between a car that was parked and a car that was kept.

QUESTIONS OWNERS ASK.

Can I store my car near Faro Airport while I am abroad?

Yes. Vault 620 is a private preservation hall in the central Algarve. Your car rests in its own marked space in an insulated, naturally dry hall, with Faro Airport transfers both ways included, an optional care package of battery conditioning and tyre care, and monitoring around the clock, for as long as you are away.

Can you collect the car before I fly and return it when I land?

Faro Airport transfers both ways, in our vehicle, are included with monthly storage. Beyond the airport, collection and delivery are arranged on request and scheduled around your travel dates. The car travels by specialist enclosed carrier, overseen by us at both ends, anywhere in Portugal. Tell us your dates and we will plan the journeys around them.

Why not simply use the airport long-stay car park?

For a short trip it can make sense. For a season, it is parking rather than storage: the car stands in the weather, its battery discharging and its tyres settling, with no one to look after it. Current tariffs are published by ANA at store.ana.pt.

Will the car start when I come back?

That is the point of the care package: intelligent battery conditioning runs throughout and tyre pressures are monitored and corrected, with fuel stabilisation available for longer stays. A message before you fly, and the car is charged, checked and ready.

How much does storage near Faro cost?

Indoor, dedicated storage is from €300 a month, VAT included, and Faro Airport transfers both ways in our vehicle are included with it. Days beyond a full month are €10 each. Collection and delivery beyond the airport, and concierge work such as detailing or an IPO inspection, are priced on request.

Can I see where the car will be kept?

Of course. Viewings are private and by appointment. We do not publish our address, because discretion protects every client, including you — but the facility and your car are always yours to see.

BEFORE YOUR NEXT FLIGHT.

Tell us your travel dates, the car and roughly how long it will rest. We reply within one working day, and viewings are private and by appointment — the address is never published.
